This famous song was written for a musical by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Tim Rice (1976).  Julie Covington (1976), Elena Roger (1978), and Madonna (1996) performed the song celebrating the life of Evita Peron.  Evita rose from humble beginnings to become Argentina’s first lady championing workers’ rights.  Sadly, Evita died at the young age of 33 …
